1,500 Strela man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS) delivered to Ukraine from Germany and 100 MG3 machine guns. This was reported by the German agency DPA, citing government sources.

According to the agency, in addition to MANPADS and machine guns, 8 million cartridges for firearms, as well as 350,000 food kits, 50 medical vehicles and medical supplies.

Earlier on March 23, the DPA, citing sources, also reported that the German Ministry of Defense plans to additionally supply Ukraine with 2,000 Panzerfaust anti-tank missiles.

Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin stated that her goal— protection of the population, “demilitarization and denazification” Ukraine.

On February 26, Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Germany would send weapons to Ukraine, including 1,000 anti-tank guns and 500 Stinger missiles. In addition, the German authorities approved the transfer of 400 anti-tank guns made in Germany from the Netherlands and 9 D-30 howitzers and ammunition from Estonia.

At the same time, the representative of the German Cabinet, Steffen Hebestrait, noted that sending any NATO military to Ukraine for any purpose should be a “red line”. According to him, there can be no clear distinction between “a humanitarian aid operation, a rescue mission” and or “combat operation” NATO. Hebestrait noted that even the presidents of France and the United States have always refused to deploy NATO in Ukraine.
