US multiple launch rocket system
Ukraine can arrange a “model-demonstrative tantrum” if the US refuses to supply multiple launch rocket systems fire (MLRS), said the adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Arestovich on the air of the Feigin Live program.
Arestovich commented on Washington's statements that the United States would not supply Ukraine with long-range missiles for MLRS that could reach Russian territory. Last week, CNN, citing sources, reported that the administration of President Joe Biden is considering transferring multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine. Depending on the ammunition, the range of the systems varies & mdash; from 70 to hundreds of kilometers.
On May 30, Biden said that the United States would not supply Ukraine with shells capable of reaching Russia.
“There are high-precision long-range missiles of the ATACMS type, here they fly for 300 km almost and hit very accurately, there are ordinary cluster unguided missiles that fly for 70 km. This is an analogue of “Tornado” and “Hurricane”. We have enough head and 70 [km]»,— Arestovich explained.
He emphasized that in the framework of the latest delivery of American military aid, it was about missiles, and not about complexes for their launch. The decision on the supply of the latter will be made in the near future, he added.
When asked by the author of the program Mark Feigin, a former State Duma deputy and politician, whether it could happen that the United States would not supply the complexes, Arestovich said: “They won’t, then we’ll arrange an exemplary hysteria.”

Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov, in turn, expressed concern about Washington's intentions to supply Kyiv with MLRS. He called such a possibility “unprecedented pumping of Ukraine with weapons.” and stressed that this increases the risk of conflict escalation.
