The richest governors
The head of the Russian region with the largest declared income was the governor of the Moscow region Andrey Vorobyov— last year, he earned 253.8 million rubles, which is three times more than in 2020. At the end of 2020, he was third in the ranking, leaving behind the heads of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and Mari El Alexander Evstifeev.
According to the declaration for 2021, Vorobyov still has no real estate and vehicles, however, one of his minor children owns an apartment of 195 square meters. This is not the first time that Vorobyov tops the list of the most earning governors. The last time he was in this position was five years ago, when he declared 97.9 million rubles in 2016.
The income of the governor grew mainly due to the assets held in trust,— explained RBC in the press service of the head of the Moscow region. The investment portfolio is formed exclusively from Russian financial instruments, they emphasized.
In second place is the governor of the Altai Territory, Viktor Tomenko, with an income of more than 85 million rubles. He hit the top 10 for the first time. As in the case of Tomenko, Menyailo received the bulk of his income (60 million rubles) from the sale of previously purchased real estate in Moscow. In second place is the family of the president of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov (175 million rubles). This happened thanks to the income of the wife of the head of the republic Gulsina: she declared more than 166 million rubles. In 2021, Minnikhanova ranked 14th in the Forbes list of the richest husbands and wives of civil servants. The publication noted that she owns beauty salons, spas and other establishments under the Luciano brand.
The families of the governors of the Altai Territory Viktor Tomenko (85.9 million rubles) and the head of North Ossetia Sergey Menyailo (70.5 million rubles) were in the top 10 due to the growth of their own income & mdash; in 2021, their spouses earned 639 thousand rubles. and 383 thousand rubles. respectively.
