Pope Francis expects to meet with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia in September. He stated this in a conversation with the leaders of the Jesuit publications in Europe, writes the newspaper la Stampa.
According to the pontiff, their meeting may take place at the general assembly in Kazakhstan in September. The Pope Rimsky noted that he plans to talk to Patriarch Kirill as a pastor.
«I was supposed to meet him on June 14 in Jerusalem, to talk about our affairs. But we decided to reschedule the meeting to a later date so that our dialogue would not be misunderstood,” – said the head of the Roman Catholic Church.
Recall that at the end of May, Pope Francis congratulated the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia on his name day.
Earlier, the Pope said that he was ready meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow to discuss the situation in Ukraine.
