Access to the buildings of the Federation Council was forbidden to British Ambassador to Russia Deborah Bronnert and other members of the diplomatic mission. Earlier, the parliament of this country banned Russian Ambassador Andrei Kelin and other diplomats from visiting its building
The Federation Council banned British Ambassador Deborah Bronnert from entering their buildings in response to London's similar restrictions on Russian diplomats, Vyacheslav Timchenko, chairman of the Federation Council committee on regulations, said at its meeting, TASS reports.
“The Committee of the Federation Council on the Rules and Organization of Parliamentary Activities, as a response, decided to deny the opportunity to visit the building of the Federation Council and the presence [in it] of the British Ambassador to Russia and other employees of the diplomatic embassy,” — he said.
The senator added that the decision was unanimous.
In turn, the head of the Federation Council committee on international affairs, Grigory Karasin, noted that members of the British diplomatic mission and the ambassador have not visited the Federation Council in recent years.
