Yerevan announced the continuation of Baku’s invasion of the zone of peacekeepers in Karabakh

The Armenian Foreign Ministry called on the Russian peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-Karabakh to take measures to stop the offensive in its area of ​​responsibility and withdraw Azerbaijani troops, as well as to investigate the capture of the village of Parukh

The invasion of the Azerbaijani military into Nagorny Karabakh in the zone of responsibility of Russian peacekeepers continues, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

“We expect that the peacekeeping forces of the Russian Federation in Nagorno-Karabakh will take concrete measures to stop the invasion of Azerbaijani units in the zone of responsibility of the peacekeepers and the withdrawal of the Azerbaijani armed forces,” The statement says.

The Foreign Ministry once again called for an investigation into the actions of the peacekeeping mission.

On March 24, the Azerbaijani military occupied the Armenian village of Parukh (Azerb. Farukh) in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Later, a skirmish took place near him for the neighboring strategically important height of Karaglukh. According to Yerevan, three Armenian soldiers were killed and more than ten wounded. From the Azerbaijani side, the Armenian side claims, five people died. Baku denied reports of a firefight and casualties.

Russian President Vladimir Putin twice— March 24 and 25— called up the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu also spoke with colleagues from Armenia and Azerbaijan Suren Papikyan and Zakir Hasanov these days.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Azerbaijani armed forces entered the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-Karabakh and put up an observation fast. The troops of Nagorno-Karabakh near Parukh were hit four times by Bayraktar TB-2 drones, the military department said. The Russian side called on Baku to withdraw its troops.

On March 27, the Azerbaijani military left their positions after negotiations, the Russian military said. However, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan stated that they did not withdraw troops.
